If you are an American you will need at least a bachelors undeergraduate degree in order to get a work visa to teach English. Otehr options are a spouse visa or working part time on a student visa.

Race is not really a big issue as long as you are a native speaker and are reasonably qualified. Previous experience or qualifications are not so important for getting jobs at regular conversation schools but they will want someone with a degree for the visa and a steady work history.
